Table Talk
I never tasted anything quite as good as that first bite of vanilla. I miss Scoops. I enjoy Paolo's. But nothing really hits it like a small vanilla cone dipped in chocolate from Dairy Queen. I like Yoforia, but I wish they had better toppings, though I kind of dig the Captain Crunch. I loved Hank's before it moved to Riverdale, and now I never get there anymore (it used to be the reason my daughter and I went to the zoo, other than the flamingos). Hank's was the only place to get black walnut ice cream. What do you crave when you're not craving anything? Does your girlfriend head to Chipotle and get you a bean burrito? Does your husband know you'll take nothing but Jelly Bellies? SARASOTA, Fla., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- MoneyShow.com, the largest multimedia investment education destination for investors, traders, and financial advisors will officially announce the results of the Traders' Sentiment Indicator at The Traders Expo New York on Saturday, February 16. The survey polled 375 active traders across the country and revealed that 48% of traders are leaning toward a bullish sentiment for the S&P 500 for the remainder of 2008. Most bullish traders seem cautiously optimistic with 30% indicating that the S&P 500 will rise less than 10% for the remainder of the year and 18% stating that the S&P would rise 10% or more. The report shows that the majority of U.S. estuaries assessed are highly influenced by human-related activities and points out that eutrophication is a widespread problem globally. "Observations have confirmed that our nation’s coastal waters are stressed," said retired Navy Vice Adm. Conrad C. Lautenbacher, Ph.D., under secretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator. "One thing we have learned from this study is that while the accumulation of nutrients in our estuaries has been stable in most of our estuaries, conditions are likely to worsen. The potential for serious degradation in most of our estuaries necessitates that we reinvigorate efforts to address nutrient pollution, and this study helps to confirm that an ecosystem approach is required for improving the health of our estuaries." Ward Churchill Fired
In the years before 2005, he gained a reputation at Colorado and on the college lecture circuit nationally as an impassioned speaker and writer on behalf of Native Americans. Most of his speeches were attended by supporters of his views, so he did not attract widespread criticism. All of that changed early in 2005, however, when Churchill was scheduled to speak at Hamilton College. Some professors there, who did not feel Churchill was an ideal speaker, circulated some of his writings, including an essay with the the now notorious remark comparing World Trade Center victims on 9/11 to "little Eichmanns." Within days, the controversy spread — with Hamilton under pressure to uninvite Churchill and Colorado under pressure to fire him. Hamilton stood by its invitation, on academic freedom grounds, but in the end called off the appearance, based on threats of violence.
10-month Suspension for Luk Kam Kwong Kenneth
The SFC has suspended Mr Luk Kam Kwong Kenneth for 10 months from 8 January to 7 November 2008 for his failure to act candidly during an insider dealing inquiry and for favouring his own interests ahead of his client's (Note 1). The action follows an inquiry conducted by the Insider Dealing Tribunal in 2006, concerning trading in the then Cheong Ming Holdings Limited (Note 2) in which Luk failed to respond to the IDT and the SFC with the candour expected of a licensed person (Note 3). His evidence before the IDT in 2006 also led to the discovery that, in January 2000, Luk executed a client's order to purchase 400,000 shares in Cheong Ming but allocated 170,000 shares to the sister of his then girlfriend rather than allocating all of the shares to his client (Note 4).
